Howdy Folks,
Newby here. I've much enjoyed reading and learning from this forum. It's been very helpful in this new endeavor of mine.
Today I racked and bottled my third batch, a Blue Moon Clone, extract version, Safebrew 58 dry yeast. It's been in primary for 20 days at around 60 to 64 degrees ambient temp. When I opened the lid today I found some junk floating on the top that looked like pieces of hops. Then when I racked the beer to the bottling bucket I say what looked like patches of yeast clinging to the sides of the fermentor. Could you more experienced brewers chime in and let me know if this looks like trouble or just ugly yeast activity? Pictures attached.
Thanks

Gonna say yeast since that appears to be below the beer line in the fermenter...

Most infections are pretty gross and obvious looking with a film on top of the beer, because most of them are aerobic and need oxygen.

Is this a common thing to see? I've only done two other batches, both with
Safeale 05, and neither had anything like this below the surface line.

If it doesn't stink, it's probably fine...drink a little, you'll know if it's sour. Even then, it might be a good sour beer!

Kinda looks like fallen Krausen to me. Those fried egg shapes with dots in the middle are a little concerning though.

Yea, taste it, its probably fine. Could be the best beer ever! The aftermath of fermentation sometimes looks dreadful.

I drank the hydrometer test beer and it tasted OK to me. No OBVIOUS strange flavors but I'm certainly not an expert in what it should taste like. Hydrometer reading was supposed to be 1.012, this read between the 1.012 & 1.014 marks.

Sounds like you're right on the money then for fermentation. If it tastes okay, go for it.

If i had to guess its clumps of yeast that attached to the side walls and doing their thing and had formed some 'krausen' type bubbles under the liquid...just a guess?

I guess I'll find out in about 3 wks. I may have to pop one open in 2 wks to test for the taste 0f EVIL!! It's everywhere these days!

Looks like beerpes. That's the result of drunkenly brewing the tempting but dirty beer and failing to use protection.
Seriously though...those bubble things look weird. That would freak me out.
