I was digging through a storage room and found a 28 quart electric turkey fryer I received as a gift several years ago. The light bulb went off. Would this work for all-grain batches? I was going to fill with water and see how accurate the digital thermometer was in regulating temperature. Wondering how much electric I'll use considering it's 120V.
I did a quick search (you should too!) and found some threads on it. Apparently it will work after a fashion, but it's hard to keep a rolling boil with the lid off. The steam carries away too much heat. If you try it, post your results please.
