Default Dry Yeast - no starter, why?

Why don't you need a starter with dry yeast?

Because there is more than enough yeast to do the job. The cellcount of dry yeast is much higher than with liquid. It's that simple.

It does help to rehydrate dry yeast to get it back to it's natural form.

Been building 1000ml starters with my notty, no wonder I get violent quick frementation at 68deg. Lots of happy yeast.
