I have this 40 qt SS pot -> http://www.amazon.com/Winware-Stainless-Steel-Quart-Stock/dp/B001AS90CK
It doesn't say induction ready but I imagine it is. It's a very nice heavy duty sturdy pot, I'm very pleased with it. I also have a 24 qt version of it.

Sure can.

For those who have been looking at the same pot, it's on sale. I paid $185 for mine.

That looks like the pot I just got. It's a Winco, and yes it works on an induction stove. It's 18/10 stainless with an aluminium-sandwich bottom.

FWIW I used to can with six gallons of water on a glass top. I didn't have any issues. Just set it down gently.

As I understand it, glass cooktops are pretty sturdy, unless they get scratched. That's why all the warnings about "never scrape anything off with a knife or razor blade, never use an abrasive cleaner, never use the cooktop as a cutting board", etc. I never liked them (we had one in my last house), but I've never heard of one breaking. If they're anything like the old Corningware dishes, though, watch out! When tempered glass does let go, it's pretty impressive.

Default follow up

So my wife got me a bayou classic 1044 SS pot and i put some water in to see if it would work on our induction stove, and it did. I am going to brew with it next weekend so I will let you know how it goes. Now I need to design a wort chiller.
