does AA matter when subbing aroma hops?

So I get that if you sub a 10% AA for a 5% AA bittering hop, you should use half as much.

What about for aroma or flavor hops? Is it the same math, or is it different?

as a bittering yeah you use half. for aroma, doesn't matter. and for flavor it kind of matters


try it out in beersmith nad make sure your IBUs don't change too much since flavor addititions do contribute to ibus
