Default D-(something) ?

Obviously I've killed too many brain cells already, and should just leave this forum right now. But . . .

I was looking for info on some problem I remembered my last brew several years ago had (though now I forget which problem that was, there are so many ), and I think the answer was D-something, which basically was letting it sit for a couple days after fermentation stopped, or something like that.

Help?

If you were brewing a lager I think the answer you are looking for is dialectal. When the lager is 3/4 done fermenting you let warm up for a couple days for a D-rest.
