could i use one of my kegs that i'm not using as a secondary

I have an extra keg and wanted to know if i could use that as a secondary instead of having to go buy another better bottle .Also If use it a a secondary i assume i would have to rack that to my other keg after the secondary process is over i couldn't just leave it in there. Is that correct??

actually for many ales you could just wait for the remaining yeast to settle and use your "secondary" for serving as well - just dont shake up the keg after settling and only your first pint or so will have some sediment.
