Default Cold crashing....

So cold crashing is mainly for clarity and ends the yeasts life span........ Correct? I just wanted to make sure as I have never really cold crashed and wanted to make sure it did not still condition (weather in a bottle or keg). Thanks for the info.

Cold crashing is mainly for clarity. It doesn't kill the yeast at all. It puts them to sleep per say. But it does however make it alot easier to get the beer off the cake with alot less yeast in suspension

Cldl crashing leaves the yest alive so you can still bottle with primming sugar without having to add more yeast.
