Default Cloudy Beer?

I just moved my first (kit) beer from the primary fermenter to the secondary glass fermenter. Its a bit cloudy now, but I did draw some off to test in with my hydrometer and it tasted pretty good. Had some carbonation even!

I am a bit concerned though as it is pretty cloudy. I would say it has a really blond look to it but you cannot see through it, even in the hydro flask. Should I be worried? I dont think things got contaminated as the brew doesnt taste or smell bad right now. I figure I will leave it in the secondary for one week before moving it to bottles. It looks like all the fermenting is done.

It sounds fine. You might consider leaving it in the secondary for 2 weeks before bottling.

Even so there's a good chance your homebrew will be cloudier than most commercial brews. Chill haze is common and doesn't adversely affect the taste, so don't worry about it.

OK, that makes me feel better. I will leave it for two weeks then bottle it. Patience is hard!

Thanks for the advice.

More properly the 'secondary' is called the clearing or bright tank, because beer doesn't undergo a secondary fermentation (like wine), but it does sit & clear.

[I doubt if homebrewering will ever get of 'secondary' as a term, even though it is a continuing source of confusion.]
