Default Cheapest source for a carboy
High quality plastic (PETE 9?) as in better bottle flexible glass would be fine with me and should make shipping weigh less. LHBS has them for $24 + tax. Can I get one online for less after shipping?

www.midwestsupplies.com has a 5 gallon better bottle for $19.95 + shipping. It comes out to $26.83 shipped here.

My sister has been buying 5 gal. glass carboys of spring water and distilled water, the deposit on the container is only $15. I got a couple of those
