Default can you buy one step cleaner at the hardware store ?
what is the chemical in star-san ? cant i buy it at another retailer than a LHBS ?

I've heard of you being able to get Iodophor at the local feed store or something like a Tractor Supplies store. Not sure about StarSan though...

i think i remember the guy at my beer distributor recommending something at the local paint store to clean my lines (potassium somethin or phosphate somethin cant remember). it left that same greasy feeling on your hands.....

Maybe at a place where they milk cows? I think it was originally made for the Dairy industry. Starsan is mainly used by the brewing industry now though.

Maybe he was talking about TSP (TRISODIUM PHOSPHATE)

I know I bought my star san at the local hardware store...... of course the local hardware store has a home brew isle..... who would have thought that the only place in town to buy home brew supplies would be an Ace Hardware!!
