Default can i just add cinnamon sticks in second?

is it ok to just add things like clove and cinnomon sticks to an ale in second fermentation??? or does it have to be put in vodka or santizer????

Put it in vodka for a couple days and pitch the whole thing. Better to be safe than sorry.

Break it up before pitching, it will extract better

Make sure to sanitize. Cracked a bottle of my still apple cinn mead after year+ of aging and its lightly carbed....DAMNIT!!!

I trace it back to the cinnamon sticks since this was part of a 6way split and ive had 3 out of 6 now.
