Default brew pot?

i was wondering if your brew pot needs to be stainless steel or if it can be aluminum..

The harmful effects from aluminum will be non-existent, just don't use a caustic cleaner every time you wash it. A stainless pot will outlive you, whereas you will eventually have to replace an aluminum pot from wear and tear.

If you have a Linens and Things (like a Bed, Bath and Beyond) going out of business near you, I found a 24 qt stainless steel stock pot with lid for $35. Plenty of room for my boils with nice silicone coated handles to boot!
