Default Brew Kettle Ice Bath Cover or not to Cover?

I've noticed on You Tube, some brewers cover their brew kettle once they begin the ice bath, i guess the idea being that as it cools down and becomes more acceptable to It's environment, covering the brew kettle help's reduce the chance of contaminating the wort.

Is there any downside to covering the brew kettle once you start the ice bath and should this be done?
