Default bottling question

I am getting ready to bottle my first brew, American Pale Ale. I have a bucket that has a spighot on it. I am guessing I should rack to this bucket first then fill my bottles? Thx.

yep, rack to the spigotted bucket, attach your tubing and bottling wand to the spigot and you're good to go. bet you're excited to get that first brew in bottles! congrats.

now, after bottling, you'll have an empty fermenter...... hope you have some plans for that thing. get the pipeline flowin'!

If you are using priming sugar solution and not carbonation tabs in the bottles, put the solution in the bottom of the spigot-ed bucket then siphon the beer in so that it swirls. This will mix the solution. I usually give it an extra, very gentle stir also. (no splashing, you do not want any oxygen introduced.)

I raise my bucket high enough to raise the bottles onto the bottling wand that is attached to the spigot with a 1 1/2" piece of tubing. That way I can sit in one place and fill the bottles then put them on the table for capping.
