I bottle from carboys all the time. Best advice I have is get SWMBO to hold the fool thing at an angle as you go so you get it all.

My Daughter works in a pinch.

Regards

I don't understand why you didn't just get another bucket from the LHBS. I can get a bucket, drilled lid with stopper, and airlock for $15!

how do you add the priming sugar to the carboy when bottling from it. it seems to me like it would add air to the brew? What do you syphon it in. Please explain

Just boil the sugar and water, cool, and pour gently. The boiling takes the air out of the water and the little splashing associated with a gentle pour won't hurt you.

Then siphon your beer, gently and the swirling will mix the sugar for you.
Regards.

LHBS is a price gouging whore. I hate by local box store, and I had a carboy on hand. Do I need to say more.

I don't need more equipment lying around. I was just seeking some tips before I got started. I have bottled two batches from a carboy now with no harm. So I saved 15$ that I will turn around and spend on a batch of session beer.

what you need is to talk a buddy into brewing, then you call him up,he brings his bucket over and its all done. This is what I do,except he got me into brewing. But I brew way more than him. then he can take it home and store it.

Oh sorry! I retract my previous statement. I have the same problem at my house! My bedroom closet is my brewhouse and it's full (luckily SWMBO leaves her clothes all over the bedroom floor or I'd have a problem)
I'm gonna pick up a couple 1gal glass bottles soon anyway. For starters and some JAOM!
