After reading a thread somewhere on HBT, I now take a cup of my beer and pasturize my corn sugar in it to prime with, the OP made sense stating that why would you want to add more water to your beer. Having said that I always cool my priming solution to at least room temps. I know there has been some debate saying that a small amount of hot priming solution shouldn't make a difference when racking a 5+ gallon volume of cool wort onto it, but it seems like bad practice to me, I chill it to at least room temp.
