Just bought a home brew kit to try out some cider & ginger beer.
Have made first cider batch and just put into bottles but not real confident that I did the whole process right so i think it wont turn out the best so any help would be great.
When i first started the fermenting stage foam bubbled up through the airlock is this normal ?

It happens some of the time. In extreme cases, the airlock clogs and blows off the fermenter. Do a search on blow-off hoses.

As long as the foam doesn't clog the airlock, than it should be fine. Its common for foam and a little residue to get into the airlock.
