Default A Bad Case of HomeBrewitis...

... no this is not the term for a red and swollen fermenting bucket with a non-bubbling airlock.

It is the term for a newb who is 1.5 batches into brewing and can't stop reading this forum and thinking about home brewing. Whether it is what the next batch should be, possible DIY projects (loving the fermentation chambers using old mini fridges BTW) or tips for brewing a better batch... I am beyond hooked.

God help the SWMBO (I even am getting the acronyms down)... Ruh roh!

I hear you, except I have pre-homebrewitis. I helped a buddy brew a batch two weeks ago, then went back this weekend to rack over to secondary fermentation and taste test it.
I have to wait about 3 weeks before I can get my kit from my lhbs. I am doing their deluxe kit and upgrading to glass carboys. Another buddy is going in on it with me so we can split the start up costs. I can't stay off the board, mostly lurking since I'm not actually doing it yet.

Ironic how just one infection is the cure.

Welcome to the passion that is Home Brewing!

1 year and 26 batches in (1 extract 25 all grain) I can tell you, it only gets better the more you learn. This is the place to learn, read the Sticky Notes and posts as a place to start, and the search tool.

Happy Brewing!

A hobby turn obsession for me. I have planned my next three recipes and my summer brew list lol. I always find ways to bring up brewing at work, i think my co worker think I am a alcoholic .

Wow, you moved to all grain after one batch? That's impressive. I need to keep reading and stop looking at things to buy, the list is endless.

I got the bug bad, and I haven't even started my first batch yet. Whenever I have downtime at work (like right now) I'm on HBT or doing other research

Damn, I've got it too.

My charming and beautiful SWMBO bought me a kit for Christmas. First batch was cooked on Christmas eve, was in the carboy fermenter for 3 weeks (so I could see what was going on), and has been in bottles for a week now. Second batch is in the bucket fermenter for 2 weeks (which originally was the bottling bucket until I converted it into a fermenter). Now I just stare longingly at the empty carboy and plot my next batch, but my evil and controlling SWMBO (yes, the same one from above) doesn't want me to make any more until I actually drink some of it, so we're not crushed under beer bottles. The nerve!

Mike

Welcome to the addiction.

This place is great and there is a wealth of info on here. When I first started I spent so much time reading about brewing that my wife called it my beer porn.

Now 50 batches in and I am still on here a lot and thinking about my next brew all the time.

I also do a lot of research (drinking different beers) so I get ideas for new brews.
