Hey, everyone. This is my second time brewing.
My question concerns mixing a Cooper's Dark Ale Beer Kit with Plain Extra Dark Malt Extract.
Is it advisable to add this extra extract? If I add it, how will it effect the taste and fermentation? Would I need to add more sugar to the mix? (The recipe currently calls for 1 kg.)
Adding any extracts will increase the OG and thus the sweetness, you can try countering it with some extra hops in your first hopping to increase the bittering.
