?? About using washed yeast starter
I washed some yeast a couple days ago for the first time. S-05 from a centenniel blond . Made a starter (2qts water 6 oz dme boiled 15 minutes) poured in my yeast and kept it swirled around. Got good kraussen. So I put it in my wort and I want to know how long till I should see activity. I know with dry yeast it is up to 72 hours. But this is new to me.
I just washed my Pacman yeast off of an IPA on Friday. We pitched 2 jars right in the new batch of beer (Drop Top Clone) on Friday without making a starter. Fermentation started within 12 hours. I would think that your yeast doesn't act like a dry yeast since it has been in liquid form for a few days.
