Default 3 weeks possibly 3 1/2

I am still in the process of my first batch it has been fermenting for one week and is sitting in my friends house. Well his father is sick and he had to go to north carolina and might not be back for a week to two weeks, will this mess up my beer?

Nah, it'll be fine. That's kind of a long time to sit on the trub in the primary. But from what I've read I don't think its long enough to produce off-flavors. What kind of beer is it?

Up to one month in the primary should be just fine from what I read...

It should be ready to bottle once he gets back as its getting extra time to mature/clear. Probably won't need a secondary/clearing vessel on this batch IMO if you are careful when racking to your bottling bucket...
