I'll see if I can find it. I'm more than prepared to be underwhelmed. IMHO, the only Shiner beer worth drinking is Shiner Black.

Ya, and even that beer is suspect when any other "craft" beer is available.

I saw a pack of the smoked shiner at HEB a couple of days ago. I passed...

Shiner Cheer was horrible. A friend gave me two bottles of it, I could only drink one.

I was given one at a Christmas party last year. I gave to a plant.

I would echo some others in this thread. I love the good old Bock, never seem to care for their specials.

I've tried the Smokehaus. It's a helles style with mesquite. The mesquite is not over-bearing, in fact it's quite subtle. It reminds me a lot of the Helles 99they did for their 99th Aniversary (which I thought was one of their more drinkable specials, but still not up to the level of Bock).

I tried it at a friends house. Meh. I'm glad I did not buy a sixer. It's nothing to talk about.

I have never been amazed by anything "Shiner" but when I first moved here in '92 I swear Shiner Bock was a much better beer, and it was much cheaper, too.
