Good luck over there and thanks for defending our country. I'll have you a nice mixed 6-pack when you get back. I'll send you one of the Thomas Hardy clones I made, should be good and ready when you get back as it will be a little over a year old then.
One of the most valuable things I have learnd through all of this is just how good homebrew can be.
Everything I have received as a gift has been fantastic. I have had the opportunity to sample about 15 different types of beer, wine, and cider. something I would have probably never done myself.
I have also learned that there is great joy in seeing the UPS truck stop at my door with yet another surprise package of yeast samples.
I can't wait to get some of my own brews ready to share so I can be on the other side of WHMBP.
Cake.

Hey Cake, I still haven't forgot you buddy! I've actually got your 6er here at work with me....Between life and work sucking for a while and a lack of funds I haven't gotten your beer in the mail. But I will, I promise
Awesome program guys, will be returning oct 2009, sent alamo a message. I was just thinking how its going to suck not having homebrew when I get back (except the 9-9-9 barleywine)
My heart goes out to the people that support the troups over there!
Watchin your brewcast, didn't realize you were leaving. Best wishes man. I'll be sure my pipeline is nice and full for next October so I can hook you up.
I spent last summer in Afghanistan and I really missed having a nice beer to cap the night off...
Here's some random stuff that the wife sent that made my life better
-DVDs. While sitting alert, there wasn't much to do...DVDs from home were great
-Jerky -It ships well and I could easily take it when I went outside the wire to snack on.
-Velveta and Ro Tell Salsa -What good American doesn't love nachos?

Hey Alamo, awesome idea! Put me on the list as well. I'd be honored to send some brew to our HBT Soldiers.
I have an idea:
If it's possible, could we get an address for them while they are deployed? We could always send them a care package on our own (or in collaboration) i.e. issue of BYO, beef jerky, moist towelettes, etc.
