Default Kegged Beer

Hi I was thinking of sending some relatives some of my beer, the problem I have is that my beer is kegged. Does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to send beer that's in a keg. I have no problem of xferring to bottles, except what would that do to the flavor/carbonation? Clayton Clark

To successfully/consistently bottle kegged beer, you need a counterpressure filler or beer gun. Blichmann Engineering's beer gun is pretty good - runs about $60.

You can bottle with nothing more than a party tap, but you will have to add a carb drop to make up the lost CO2. Burp the keg and use as low a pressure (1-2 psi) as you can. It won't change the flavor.

You can ship a cornie, but unless they have their own equipment, you'll have to send a party tap a CO2 charger & bottles. This gets expensive fast.
