Default Wort Chiller

I finally got my immersion wort chiller from my LHBS! Anything I need to do before I use it? I will also be using my aluminum turkey fryer pot for my next brew day. Is there anything I need to do to condition it before I use it to brew? I thought I read on here about boiling water in it for a while to condition it or something. Any ideas?

Thanks again!

Just give everything a real good clean and put the immersion chiller in for the last 15min of the boil to sanitize.

You should boil plain water for 30-45 minutes to build up an oxide layer on your aluminum pot. This will turn the inside a little black, but thats what you want!

As for the chiller if the copper is already clean you are good to go. If its dirty you can dunk it in a water and vinegar boil. I forget the ratio, but you dont need a lot. It amazing how clean it gets.
