Hard or soft water. Good, bad or no difference?
For extract brewing, if the water tastes ok, don't worry.
Remember one unassailable statistic, as explained by the late, great George Carlin: "Just think of how stupid the average person is, and then realize half of them are even stupider!"

The corollary, of course, is that if it does not taste good, try something else.
And to add to what david 42 said.. it would depend on what style you were trying to brew if you were doing all grain.
IE; Pilsener = soft water....Stout = harder water
