Default Split blonde ale to add _____

So I've got a basic blonde ale in the primary and will be moving it to secondary this week sometime. When I was first brewing this batch I was thinking about adding something to it to play around a bit. The owner of my LHBS mentioned that I would be better off adding some extract to the glass of a beer when poured instead of making a batch that doesn't turn out right.

With that thought in mind I have settled for leaving it as is. The more I think about it though I'm curious if I could split the primary and move half of it to a secondary with strawberry's or something. Has anyone ever done this. Have any tips?

What about black pepper or jalapenos? I've heard of people adding a jalapeno to each bottle. How long would this take to develop and be drinkable.

That's what I'm planning on doing [trying to do decide between strawberries or raspberries].

If you're going to use fresh fruits, make sure you pasteurize it first by heating it up to 180F for 20 minutes. Make sure that it doesn't go much higher than 180. Cool it, then place in with the beer for another 2 weeks.

Now raspberries do sound good, those I didn't think of.
