Default Slanting Annie's Chocolate Porter

brewing this today from Papazian's Homebrewer's Companion. he uses 12 oz. of bakers chocolate. i bought some of that as well as 4 oz. of cocoa nibs (for the secondary in case the bakers chocolate doesn't do what i'm looking for). recipe looks like this:

3 lbs. Light DME

1.75 lbs. Pale Malted Barley
2.25 lbs. Crystal
2.25 lbs. Wheat Malt
.35 lbs. Chocolate Roasted
.35 lbs. Black Patent

1.25 oz. Williamette (boil)
.5 oz. Williamette (flavor)
.5 oz. Williamette (aroma)

he does a 90 minute boil which i don't have in the cards for me today. i have a Pacers game to be at by 7pm so i'm thinking 60 minute boil. when should i add the chocolate? he says to do it 15 minutes into the 90 minute boil. wouldn't that boil away a lot of the flavor and contribute a lot of bitterness?

Is that for 5 gals? Doesn't seem like a lot of fermentable material for this untrained recipe person.
