Default Siphoning into Primary Fermenter

I am getting back into brewing btu have decided to do full 5 gallon batches instead of boiling 3 gallons or so. I have a keg that I have cut the top off of but do not yet have a ball valve welded onto it. My question is, once I chill the beer to a pitchable temperature can I siphon into the primary fermented? I know it is important to aerate the wort but figured this could be done by holding the end of the tube a little higher than the fermented?

Thanks in advance, I cannot wait to get back into the wonderful world of brewing!

No problems with siphoning.

Yeah that will work just fine but I would also spend a few minutes sloshing around the primary before pitching your yeast.
