Default OG lower that should be

Just finished a Stone Ruination clone and my OG should have been .075 but ended up being .055. I normally lose a fair amount of water to the hop flowers but this batch I only had pellets available and used the same amount of water and didn't lose as much(finished with about 5.75 gallons). Any thoughts?

Maybe it's because you finished with 5.75 gallons on a recipe formulated for 5 gallons?

That will do it everytime.. But on the bright side, you will get probably 8.5 six packs instead of 7.

True, but it won't be a Ruination clone anymore. It should still be a tasty, hoppy brew though.
