Default Nutty Brunette

Does anyone know if there are any clone extract kits for BJ's Nutty Brunette? SWMBO loves that beer and I wana suprise her with it. I have already checked AHB, but I am not sure where else to look.

Thanks in advance.

I've had a nutty brunette give me a bj before, but no I've not heard of it, sorry.

Couldn't resist!

Sorry I didn't see this post before. It is fun to shoot for something familiar, but you will usually fall short(even with a kit). I am not sure where to find anything like that, but it is fun to take your best guess and see where you went right. Good luck and I will keep my ears open.

I'm not familiar with this brew. If it is a "Nut-brown" ale there are any number of good kits out there. If it is a nut-flavored brew let me suggest this: Brew up a brown ale, roast some nuts (to sanitize and remove oils) and add them to the boil towards the end (last 5-15 minutes) and leave them in the primary. I have tried this with a stout and been successful.

I have been to BJs a few times (they just opened one in Columbus, OH) but have not tried the Nutty Brunette, maybe I have, but I dont remember what it tasted like, if you get my drift...

I would try the Nut Brown Ale Extract kit from Austin Home Brew SUpply:

http://www.austinhomebrew.com/product_info.php?cPath=178_452_42_170&products_id= 348

Never tried this either, maybe it's about what you're looking for though...

Here is the description from BJ's site:
NUTTY BREWNETTETM
A unique American-style brown ale. A blend of four different dark malts produces a flavor profile that is sweet with “nutty” notes. A healthy dose of hops makes this beer hoppier and more balanced than most English brown ales.

Style: American Brown Ale
Alcohol: 5.9% by volume
Malt Varieties: 2-row Pale, English Crystal, Briess Victory and Special Roast, Chocolate

Bitterness (IBU): 35
Starting Gravity: 1.061
Hop Varieties: Magnum, Willamette, UK Fuggles
Awards: Gold Medal American Brown Ale at 2004 California State Fair; Gold Medal American-Style Brown Ale at 2003 Los Angeles County Fair

I might have to try one of the AHB kits and add some extra hops to it. Now that I think about it, I am going to email AHB and see if they can suggest a kit, or maybe make one up for me
