Norther Irish Red Ale

I am setting up for brewing this ale. Any tips on doing a full boil with this kit? Should I just follow the regular instructions but starting with 4.5 gallons of water?

Also, how do you recommend cooling it quickly without special equipment?

I'm fairly new to this and have been reading quite a bit. You have a good community here.
