this is my second batch...I Brewed Tuesday night...checked the airlock Wed AM nop activity..checked Wed pm still no activity..Thurs am still none...Thuirs pm I checked for form..there was a ring about 1 -2 inches above wort...does this mean there was fermentation even though there was no airlock activity..I check the seal on the lid and it was tight....thanks

Sounds like it to me. What temp is it at? Did you use a hydrometer?

70 degrees .... the gravity went from 1.039 to 1.015 .. in only 48 hours is that possible?

Well, possible or not, it happened. I'd say you somehow had a leak.

Yes, 48 hours ferments at 70F are quite possible, had several myself. Lower gravity worts can ferment fast because the yeast don't have to fight high osmotic pressures.

Yeast can be really sneaky, you probably had an overnight fermentation.

That ring is from the krausen falling and that's normal.

The ale is fine.

Give it another day or two. If the SG is unchanged, move it to the secondary.
