Default My first batch ?s

So my wife bought me a wheat extract kit to start off my brewing career. I am using buckets for my fermentation. So I am currently 4 days in a after a rapid bubbling first couple days I now get a bubble every 90 seconds. So whats the consensus with wheat and a secondary Y or N? And if Y should I switch it over now or wait? Any other tips are appreciated as well. Thanks

You want to take hydrometer readings to tell if the fermentation is over. Generally you don't want to rack to secondary or bottle until it is over.

Ditto on the hydrometer reading. But I don't think a secondary is necessary for a wheat beer (and even if you did use a secondary you would want to wait at least a week before moving the beer there). They tend to be cloudy anyway. I'd say leave it in the primary for 3 weeks then bottle.

It depends on what kind of wheat beer it is. if its a hefeweizen or a wit, no you don't need a secondary because tehy should not be 'crystal clear'.

if its an american wheat, sure, clear it in secondary.

no matter what, always remember that secondary is for clearing and/or aging...not for fermentation. thus, always make sure the beer is 'done' in primary before you rack it.
