Default My experiment with plain LME (not hopped) and citrus agents



Ingredients to my super latest brew, Citrus Charger; Coopers Amber LME, Honey, Brown Sugar, Icing Sugar, Liquid Glucose, 2 Limes, 2 Lemons and Coopers Brewer's Yeast.

Just bottled it last night, tasted some....whoa...potent...good body...must be the liquid glucose and honey in it... can't wait for it to be conditioned...


These are the equipment that I'm using here in Malaysia;


My primary fermentor, a 18 litre polypropylene bucket which can ferment a 15 litre batch. I use a similar bucket as my secondary.


The hydrometer that i'm using.


The airlock that i''m using.


The hand capper that i'm using

Why not try making some beer or can't you get hops in that part of the world?
Is your fermenter made out of pewter?

It is a polypropylene bucket.

I already tried brewing with Cooper's beer kits, turned out fine. Got a bit curious and wanted to try brewing with local condition. So that's why I am experimenting with things that i can get locally. We don't have brew supply stores here and nobody grow hops here.

My opinion is that hops are not the only thing we could use to impart bitterness into the beer.... there are bitterness in other items that could replace hops. That's why i am experimenting with local stuff to see how these bitterness agents fare....

True but hops not only impart flavour, aroma and bitterness but also act as a preservative.

Where do you get the malt extract? Do they not have the hopped cans of Coopers?
