Default litre to gallon conversion?

iv'e got a kit that makes 6.5 litres...what are we talking in gallons here..i cant find my conversion tables...i just made this kit and wasn't sure..it says a starting specific gravity of 1065....so i added enough water to get it down to that point...it turned out to be 4 gallons exactly...it's an old ale kit by muntons..i know that was a stupid thing to do...but hey how bad can it be...

or 19 liters wich is 5.01 gallons?
