Default How long do extract kits last?

I was cleaning out the closet and found 2 extract kits from Austin home brew they are from 10/2007 do you think they are still good?

Just a matter if they were infected or not. Any yeast will be garbage, but you may be able to use the rest. Do they have DME or LME? DME last longer.

DME will be fine. LME may or may not. The oldest liquid extract I ever used was 5 years old. That was no good. The second oldest was a year old. That beer turned out fine but it was an IPA so that would mask many age-related off flavors.
