im in the same boat as you man im not a huge fan of lager its to plain for me. I would personally say try to scam your way to a better extract somehow. but if you want to make the best of it and tough it you i would recomend getting some barly, hemp seeds froma bulk store and roast them for a little in an oven (hemp seeds come roasted but still roast to kill bacteria) after milling them a little steep them while water heats up then add fermentable sugars. ect.... the rest is history. Hemp beer is quite pleasant to drink.
