Promash has a free demo version. There's no time limit. You just can't save more than I think 3 recipes and you can't do brew session, but it lets you create recipes and play with all of the other features of the program.

I tried to go with out spending the money for beersmith or promash and after trying beersmith I was sold. It is one of the best tools to help you brew that is out there.

Beer Calculus homebrew recipe calculator is awesome. It even lets you save to a hopville account. I use it and a few other free calculators on the web.

TastyBrew.com | Homebrewing Calculators

This has been so clutch for me...i love the first calculator which allows you to plug in elements of your recipe and compare it to the bjcp guidelines for the style..so awesome!
