Default Foam color on ale

Hi all,

I put together an ale yesterday and it started bubbbling this morning. This is my first batch alone and my first in a glass carboy where I can see the churning happening. Is it normal for the foam on the top to be brown? Like half it is white and half is a really thick icky brown. I love the smell of fermentation though!

TIA,

M
