Extract kit for a fruit beer?

I'm going to experiment with my next batch of beer using pineapple in the secondary. My DW is a fan of fruit beers and lambics, but I don't have the patience or the space to really age a lambic properly. Since I know that pineapple is a hit-or-miss ingredient, I want to attempt the first brew with a simple extract kit. I'm vacillating back and forth between different light ale kits, and at this point i'm leaning towards a cream ale kit using Safale S04 yeast because of how well it flocs out.
I know that pineapple is very acidic and will have negative consequences if added to the primary. The plan is to rack to secondary after +/- two weeks in primary on fresh sweet pineapple puree (one large Florida pineapple). I'm also considering a little ginger in the secondary to provide some balance for the pineapple to lean on.
Thoughts? Tips? Suggestions?
