Default Extract expiration?

I bought a stout extract kit with steeping grains about 2-3 weeks ago and want to brew tomorrow.....Will my LME still be fresh enough to make a good brew?

You should keep lme in the fridge, but I'm sure it's fine

Really? I bought it at my LHBS and they have all of theirs sitting out on the shelves, no cooling
