Default Extract Brown Ale any suggestions?

OK I revised my Brown Ale (first brown) recipe that I'm brewing later today.

I figured the higher IBU would be toned down slightly by the notty yeast. Either way I'm going for a malty but aromatic beer. I Almost used cascade or centennial on this but after a little research on hops I ended up with these.

7lbs Muntons Light Dry Malt Extract

6% 8oz Crystal 60L

5% 6oz Chocolate Malt (UK)

boil 60 mins 1oz Willamette pellet 5.5 AA

boil 15 mins 1oz Goldings, East Kent 5.0 AA

Yeast Nottingham

Original Gravity
1.053

Final Gravity
1.013

Color
21° SRM / 41° EBC
(Brown to Dark Brown)

Bitterness
32.2 IBU / 6 HBU
ƒ: Rager

On a brew like this, if its cheaper to use some LME instead of all that Light DME, do it.

Your recipe is very similar to Brewers Best's "English Brown Ale":

3.3lb Amber LME
2lb. Amber DME

8oz caramel 60L
4oz chocolate malt
6oz carapils

1oz bittering
1oz flavoring
.25 oz aroma

But I refuse to use Nottingham anymore. Two recalls in one year, and that yeast just seems flat...one dimensional. Might as well be bread yeast!

If you can grab a liquid english ale yeast, do it.

I could get a liquid english ale yeast but then I wouldn't have time to do a starter.

How about safale 04?
