Default difference in results with dry malt extract and liquid (syrup)

just wondering what if any the differences in the final product you get when you use dry malt extract or the liquid syrup extract

on some of the kits i get from northern brewer (smashing pumpkin ale) they use both dry and liquid extracts but i dont know why and how it effects the beer.

You get about 15% mote sugar pet pound in dry versus liquid, aka less water means more sugar.

LME is cheaper because it takes less manufacturing due to drying but is is also more prone to scorching on the bottom of the pot where DME just poofs into a cooing and coats your house with a fine coat of sticky when it hit the water
