Default Converting NB Amber ale to pumpkin ale??

So I have a NB Amber ale with:

Amount Item Type % or IBU
6.30 lb Amber Liquid Extract Extract 86.30 %
1.00 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L (20.0 SRM) Grain 13.70 %
2.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] (60 min) Hops 21.0 IBU
1.00 oz Cascade [5.50 %] (1 min) (Aroma Hop-Steep) Hops -
1.00 items Whirlfloc Tablet (Boil 15.0 min) Misc
4.00 oz Malto-Dextrine (Boil 5.0 min) Misc
1 Pkgs American Ale (Wyeast Labs #1056)

Is it possible to add a few cans of caramelized pumpkin (in a nylon paint strainer bag) to the boil and some spice to the secondary to make it a pumpkin ale?

Or will the cascades make for a weird combination with the pumpkin?

Well, not being a big fan of Cascade I won't comment on that part, but typically any Amber Ale can be made into a pumpkin ale by adding some pumpkin to the secondary and adding a bit of spice.

+2 Add some pumpkin and some all spice/cloves/etc. I would consult Yuri_Rage's method for preparing pumpkin to be added to the brew.

I'd avoid the second hops addition. The citrus character will conflict nastily with the spices. Yuk!

Thanks for the replies. I decided to just try the regular Amber Ale recipe this time.

However, NB sent me an extra 3.3 Lb can of Amber LME accidently for free, so I can start planning to build my pumpkin ale with that and more LME.
