Default Blending DME with hot water prior to adding to boil?

anyone ever try this? is it a good idea?

WHy do you want to? It doesn't make any sense to me. Just drop it in the kettle and get boiling.

true but figured it would be better dissolved and blend easier. guess you are right though

It's gonna clump either way, might as well just do it when it's time to boil. I once dumped my entire 6 pound dme bill into a kettle, and it all eventually dissolved. It was a pita but I wanted to see.
