basic hefeweizen recipe
This will be my 4th extract brew and i'm going for a nice hefeweizen. So far I have the following ingredients. What do you guys think?
7lb Malt Extract- Wheat
For specialty grains I have:
1lb 2 row
.5lb flaked wheat
1oz cascade hops
Wyeast 1010 American Wheat
Should I put all of the Cascade hops in for 60 minutes? What temp should I steep my specialty grains at?
The 2row is going to need a mash. I dont think steeping it will get you anything. You can do a minimash with it, check here for instructions...http://www.homebrewtalk.com/f39/easy-partial-mash-brewing-pics-75231/
As for the Cascade, yeah full 60 boil. Should get you around 20 or so IBUs.
