When adding either DME or LME, why wait until the wort is almost to boil? Is this so it mixes in with the liquid better? What impacts would adding it as soon as your are done with the steeping grains and then bringing it up to boil have on the batch?
Well,after steeping or mashing,you of course have to bring it to a boil. But right before it boils,you get the mad foamy hot break. No sense making it worse with extract added. Besides,the extracts disolve better in boiling water/wort.
