I've come across some recipes in my own language on the internet. However, they are not so explanatory, so I couldn't find enough information.
I was searching for malted wheat in our local stores, but only kind of wheat i can find was bulghur.
I've found a beer recipe which bulghur is used, but it's used along with sugar. I've tried it, but on 5th day, i dumped it. Because it had a very light colour so i thought i didn't boil it enough.
I researched a bit more, and i found the information that wheat needs to be malted. I'm not sure if bulghur is malted. So, if i boil bulghur for 2 hours, will it break down its sugars?
The second question is, i also don't have any malt extract, but i don't want to use sugar. So is it possible to achieve this only with bulghur?
